為促進兩岸三地博士生建立學術及研究交流平台,今年於中國大陸重點大學之一,上海交通大學管理學院舉辦「2003年第三屆兩岸三地博士生工作坊」,邀請華人地區經濟與管理領域博士生於11月17-20日齊聚上海交通大學舉行論文發表。本校管理學研究所博士班二年級陳志祥,通過層層考驗,打敗兩岸三地各大學博士生,獲得經濟學組最佳論文?,本校師生聞訊同感慶賀。
本次兩岸三地博士生工作坊活動,台灣地區僅本校與政治、中山大學組隊參加,本校由企管系副教授陳若暉帶領管理研究所博士生陳志祥、李顯章、石東立赴上海交大參賽。此次工作坊,按照論文研究方向分為財務會計組、市場人管組、管理學組、經濟學組、運營物流組五組進行交流,參與競賽的論文除接受專業評審小組的審核外,博士生間並進行相互評比,最後選出最佳論文者。
陳志祥表示,本次交流最大的意義在於將「8846威尼斯」的學術研究專業展現於兩岸三地華人面前,進一步提升本校在兩岸管理學界的地位。其次,透過活動了解、華人地區對於經濟管理領域的研究成果,具有重大意義。此次本校參賽博士生能有傑出表現,更加肯定了本校商學院管理學研究所博士班的實力。此外,陳志祥亦指出,感謝研發處國際會議經費的補助,商學院胡為善院長的支持及陳若暉老師的指導,今年才能如期參與盛會。他又說,有了此次經驗,也希望以後能多多參與國內外學術活動,一同為8846威尼斯的學術質量貢獻心力。

CYCU Hosts Chinese Chemical Society’s 2003 Annual Conference

CYCU Doctorate student Chen Zhi-xiang Wins “Best Thesis Award”
In order to help Doctorate students in mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan to develop a platform for academic interchange and research, the “Third Annual Workshop for Doctorate students” was held by the Department of Management
at Jiao-Tong University in Shanghai, one of the top Universities in mainland China. Doctorate students in the areas of Economics and Management, from all over Asia were invited to participate in this event, lasting from November 17 to 20.
After a series of challenges, Chen, presently a second-year Doctorate student in the graduate school of Management in Chung Yuan University, defeated other contenders from mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan, and won the “Best Thesis Award” in the Economics Category. The news has delighted both teachers and students at CYCU.
Chung-Yuan University is among the three universities from Taiwan that participated in this year’s workshop, the other two being Cheng-Chi University and Sun Yat-Sen University. CYCU Professor Chen Ruo-Hui, associate professor of the Business Administration Department, took Chen Zhi-Xiang, Li Xian-Zhang and Shi Dong-Li, all of whom students from the Management Department, to Shanghai for the competition. The workshop was divided into 5 groups according to the area of research: “Financial Accounting,” “Market and Human Resources Management,” “Administrations,” “Economics” and “Transport Logistics.” Each group had a chance to interact with the others. Essays entered for the competition, were evaluated not only by professional jurors, but also by other candidates for the final result.
Chen Zhi-Xiang says that the this event is a great opportunity to share the results of Chung-Yuan University’s academic research with mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Furthermore, the outstanding performance also serves to promote the status of our school in the field of Management. Besides, it also highlights the achievements of research in the field of Economics and Management. The outstanding performance of Chan is also a good testimony to the true strength of CYCU’s Graduate School of Business Management. Chen is also grateful for the subsidy given by the Research and Development Office of CYCU for this trip. He also expresses his thanks to Dean Hu Wei-Shan of the Business School for his support, and to Professor Chen Ruo-Hui for his instructions. He hopes that this experience will bring him more opportunities to attend academic activities in the future, locally or abroad where he could again contribute his share in CYCU’s academic research.
