Become one with a diversification of matters to develop interests and hobbies
Students at the Department of International Business are usually good at expressing themselves while holding a passion for diverse facets of the world. Such quality can be fully seen through their learning and social activities. Similarly, they also actively participate in various types of extracurricular activities and departmental associations, not only expanding the students’ interpersonal relationships, but can also provide opportunities for learning and growth in different fields.
The individuality of the Department of International Business is its diversity. The presence of many foreign students enriched the entire learning environment, often allowing the students to communicate and interact with classmates from different cultural backgrounds. Such cultural exchanges not only expanded their international perspectives, but also cultivated the students’ ability to work and to communicate in cross-cultural environments. 適時引導 鋪排助力之路
有時學生對於未來感到迷惘時,「當老師的需要利用學生本身的特質,去引導、傾聽。」同學總會頻繁且樂於跟登元老師談話,聊起勁來就是兩三個小時,而紀老師也會主動提出下次的約談時間,不論是對未來升學、課業壓力,抑或是家裡私事需要從不同角度給予學生意見等。過程中能看見學生經過深談後的轉變,以及生活模式的調整。紀老師分享到,利用LINE通訊保持聯繫,時常關心學生近況,不僅及時也能完善地記錄與每位學生連絡的情況,與班上同學維持親密度。
紀老師也提到仍會存在些許遺憾:「無法完善照料每一位學生。」由於學生的特性皆有所不同,有些人較難以接受導師主動的關心問候,因此不會透露太多自身的訊息。但紀老師卻深信,只要學生需要立即的幫助與建議,或是加油打氣的一番話,老師都願意伸出橄欖枝給予學生,願不願意接受,總有一天,只需等待時機成熟就好。
Timely Guidance Leads to the Path of Assistance
Sometimes when the students feel lost with the future, “we as the educators are required to guide and listen while utilizing the students’ individual qualities.”The students are often willing to engage in conversations with Professor Chi, chatting away for two to three hours at times. Professor Chi would also initiate to schedule the next meeting, giving the students advice from different perspectives, whether it’s about future academic pursuits, academic stress, or personal matters. The students’ transformations and adjustments made to their lifestyles can be observed throughout the process of the deep conversations. Professor Chi shared that he would often stay in touch with the students using LINE messaging to keep updated with the student’s conditions, not only capable of comprehensively documenting the communications with each student, but also maintaining a close bond with the students in the class.
Professor Chi also mentioned that there still exist some regrets as being “Unable to fully take care of each student.” Since students differ in personalities, some people find it harder to accept the care and greetings initiated by their mentors, hence they would not tell much about themselves. However, Professor Chi deeply believes that as long as the students need immediate assistance and advice or a chat to encourage them, the professors are all willing to hold out a helping hand to the students, therefore it is just a matter of time whether they accept it or not, one just need to wait for the right timing to come.
師生相處 相互成就
學習沒有終止的一天,與學生相處的同時,紀老師自身也在相互學習、共同領悟。
認識與時俱進之觀念、議題、更甚是年輕人間的流行用語。奉獻教育的熱情不僅需要保持對於教學的滿腔熱血,學生能夠真心誠意地回饋更是重要,且視為珍貴的養分。每每接收到學生給予正面回饋時,付出的心血能獲得回報且被重視。在教學這條路上就能適時充電,像加滿油般繼續努力。「學習始终持續進行著,我們是一起成長的。」備受學生喜愛與肯定的登元老師,重視被學生需要的認同感,師生之間能夠建立深厚的信任,是身為教育工作者的崇高光榮,也是頗具成就感的一份志業。

The passion dedicated to education not only requires maintaining enthusiasm towards teaching, but the sincere feedback from the students is even more important, which is further considered precious nourishment. Whenever positive feedback is received from the students, the efforts that they put in are then rewarded and valued. One can recharge timely on this path of teaching, just like gassing up to continue striving harder with renewed energy. “Learning goes on, and we are growing together.”Favored and acknowledged by the students, Professor Chi values the acknowledgment of being needed by the students, and it is a noble honor as an educator to be able to establish a profound trust between the professor and the students, as well as a vocation filled with a sense of accomplishment.
